“Ever since forming from the first graduating class of the Torch Theatre’s Improv training center in 2008, the Empty Frames Experiment has used the diverse backgrounds of its cast to create a show that strives to be both experimental and accessible. Members of the group have had other lives as actors, dancers, poets, teachers, cartoonists, and visual artists. The group takes a single audience suggestion to create an alternate universe and then sets about systematically dismantling it. A key element of their show is a willingness to bend “the rules” of the stage. Always willing to allow random chance to dictate the direction of the show, the Empty Frames are alternately fast-paced comedy and scathing comment on reality.”
